Now this is something which has been in the pipeline for some time now. VWD have mentioned in the past, plans for a feature in the e-Lottery back office for people to see exactly who is in the same e-Lottery syndicate as themselves.

Mark Davies, VWD Head of Marketing, believes it could change the face of e-Lottery… both literally and figuratively.

In December 2006, Mark had been doing some serious thinking and research into what made people join syndicates, and more importantly, what made them stay in them.

"What is a syndicate? It's a group of people with a common goal: winning."

He realised people were much more likely to join syndicates, and stay in them, if they knew other people in the syndicate.

Besides, being in a syndicate with those you know is just fun, whether you win or not.

Mark had never given up on the idea, and his research into social networks for uvme gave him the Eureka! moment that he had been waiting for: See Your Syndicate was born.

See Your Syndicate is based on the same general idea as Friends and Family, only more: it lets you get to know people you may have never met before as well. Everyone can now create profiles with their personal details, such as interests, hobbies, star sign, etc., and share their display photo. So now each place in an e-Lottery syndicate has a name and a face, and available places show up as such.

The next challenge for See Your Syndicate will be to add more features to allow interaction between syndicate members, such as a virtual guest book. This and other enhancements will be phased in soon!

As you can see from the image above, my syndicate is not yet full and I am the only one to have  uploaded a photo yet. See Your Syndicate is only effective if people put their photos up, and add some personal information in their profile. Otherwise it's just as random and unpersonalized as ever to join an e-Lottery syndicate! If you haven't done so already, DO IT NOW!

Whilst have a play with the See Your Syndicate feature, I noticed I was in the same syndicate as people from all around the world: Netherlands, Cameroon, Cote D'Ivoire, France, Malta, Australia, Italy & Guadeloupe!
